Armida Oliver Almeyda Obituary

Armida Oliver Almeyda age 83 of Williamsburg Brooklyn, New York passed away on May 2, 2023.

She was born on January 9th, 1940 in Aguadilla Puerto Rico.  Daughter of Marianna Almeyda and Ramon Oliver.  She came to New York as a young woman to work and provide a better future for her family.  After her divorce, she continued to work hard and raised her only son as a single mother.  Armida was not only a devout mother, but a devoted sister, daughter, aunt, godmother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

Psalm 71:20-21

Though you have made me see troubles, many and bitter, you will restore my life again; from the depths of the earth, you will again bring me up.  You will increase my honor and comfort me once again.

One of Armida's favorite songs was "Cielito Lindo"  She loved listening to music, spending time with family and friends, nurturing and protecting her only sister, and her faith in our Creator.  Our beloved "Ojitos Negros" our beloved "Negrita" has left us for now.  Armida will be missed by all that knew her.  Our hearts mourn this loss.  She was one of a kind and to be loved by her was to be truly blessed.

We invite all who knew and loved her to attend visiting hours at Seneca Chapels 494 Seneca Avenue Ridgewood, NY 11385 on Saturday, May 13, 2023, from 4-8 pm.
