Dario Mena Obituary

Dario Mena was born December 19, 1952 to Carmen Mena and Manuel Antonio Montesino in

Dario Mena was born on December 19, 1952, to Carmen Mena and Manuel Antonio Montesino in the
Dominican Republic. He married his loving wife Carmen Cabrera in 1980. He was kind, caring, humble
and had an undeniable impact on those he touched.
Together they raised their family of four children Kedwin, Rosa, Erica and Carmen. Upon migrating to
the U.S he worked as a mechanic for Acme Skillman, CCM construction and Maggie Paratransit just to
name a few companies
Dario was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved his family and was very
proud of his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed listening to Merengue and Tipico music and
spending quality time with family. He enjoyed a good joke and had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed
driving his family around the city.
Dario’s physical presence will be missed but his energy will remain with us. He leaves to mourn his loss,
wife Carmen Cabrera, daughters Rosa, Erica and Carmen and son Kedwin, sixteen grandchildren, many
great nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends.

I’M FREE

Don’t grieve for me for now I’m free,
I’m following the path God laid for me
I took his hand when I heard him call,
I turned my back and left it all
I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work or play
Tasks left undone must stay that way,
I’ve found that peace at the close of day
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah yes, these things I too will miss
Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
I wish for you the sunshine of tomorrow
My life’s been full, I’ve savored much,
Good friends, good times, my loved one’s touch
If my time seemed all too brief,
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief
Lift up your heart, rejoice with me,
God wanted me now, He set me free.
