" A MAN WHO STANDS FOR NOTHING WILL FALL FOR ANYTHING "
Eddie Washington, beloved husband, father,
grandfather, son, brother, uncle, nephew,
cousin and friend passed away on May 14,
2024, at the age of 57. He left an indelible
mark on all who knew and loved him and he
will be sorely missed.
Eddie was born on September 26, 1966 in
Brooklyn, to Eddie Washington and Jean
Powell (née Alfano). When Eddie was a young
child, his mother remarried, and he was
raised by his stepfather, Curtis Powell, Jr., who
provided unwavering love and support.
Eddie grew up in Williamsburg Houses and as
an adult lived in Harlem and Astoria before
settling in Ridgewood. He graduated from
Aviation High School and worked for
Practising Law Institute in Manhattan for
almost 30 years.
In addition to his parents, Eddie is survived by
his beloved wife, Barbara “Bobbee”
Washington (née Rodriguez) and his three
children: Hector “Manny” Soler (married to
Arielle Soler), Eddie Washington, Jr. and Jewel
“Juju” Washington, who he loved with all his
heart. As a devoted husband and father, he
was always there to support his family
through every stage of their lives.
Eddie was a loving grandfather to Aidan, Levy,
Milo, Shea and Aaliyah, who will forever
cherish the memories of their time together.
Additionally, Eddie is survived by his brothers,
David Washington (married to Miriam
Washington) and Curtis Powell III (married to
Christine Powell), along with numerous
nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and
countless friends.
Eddie loved sports and was a diehard Boston
Celtics and Dallas Cowboys fan. His biggest
passion was smoking cigars with friends and
he also loved traveling to Las Vegas with his
wife, Bobbee.
Eddie will always be fondly remembered for
his sense of humor, wit, sarcasm and his
brutal honesty. His legacy will live on through
the many lives he touched.
Eddie will be deeply missed by all who knew
him. His memory will live on in the hearts of
his family and friends forever.
Rest in peace, Eddie, we will always love you.
