Felicita De Jesus Santos (10/26/1947-07/23/2025)
Felicita De Jesus Santos of Salinas (Coqui) Puerto Rico, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2025,
in hospice care. She was surrounded by loved ones.
Felicita is survived by her three children and their spouses, who all loved her dearly. In order of
their birth: Milagros Castro (Mateo) and her husband Rafael Castro; Felicita Mateo; Juan
Roberto Mateo and his wife, Carmen Ruiz-Castro.
Taty became a grandmother in 1992 and was overjoyed with the role. Her grandchildren
adored her, and she in turn loved them tremendously. She is known by both Milagros and
Felicita’s children as “Taty” (Cinthya Swen, Silvya Demadet, Juliette Castro; Joshua, Corey and
Isaiah Maneiro) and is known as “Guelita” to Juan Roberto’s daughters (Bianca and Bianet
Mateo). Felicita recently became a great grandmother to Arya Swen, and she was as thrilled to
become a great grandmother as she was when she was made a grandmother. Arya brought her
the utmost joy and excitement.
A resident of Brooklyn, NY, since 1980, Felicita loved her metropolitan lifestyle. She loved going
to the movies, shopping and tending to her many thriving houseplants. She is survived by
Esteban (Steve) Santos, whom she met in her cherished city in 1995, and who has been her true
love for over 30 years.
Her family will miss her mischievousness, her world-class cooking, and her vibrant love.
