Dr. Jesus Samson Montemayor, Jr. was born on May 17, 1939, in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, Philippines. His parents were Lieutenant Jesus C. Montemayor, Sr. (USAFFE) and Maria Elena (née Samson) Montemayor, both of Toledo City, Cebu, Phillippines. Jesus earned his medical degree on April 28, 1969 in the Philippines. He married Catalina Trocio Abellana of Toledo City, Cebu, Philippines on September 26, 1971. Jesus and Catalina moved to New York City (Manhattan) as newlyweds the following year. Jesus began his U.S. medical career as a resident of pathology at Wyckoff Heights Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. He later worked at various hospitals including in the emergency room of Astoria General Hospital in Astoria, New York; and Goldwater Memorial Hospital on Roosevelt Island (New York, NY) where he produced published research as part of an international team studying electromagnetic energy for the benefit of in-patient geriatrics. Jesus is survived by Catalina, his devoted wife of over 53 years; his four daughters, Grace, Gail, Jennifer and Jessica; son-in-law, Paul; grandson, Jackson; and granddaughter, Annika.
