Luz Divina Abreu

We are sadly to announce our mother Luz Divina Abreu, 83, passed away on August 24, 2024 in Jamaica Queens Hospital. After a long battle of dementia & cardiovascular disease she is now resting in peace with our Heavenly Father. 

Doña Luz spent the past 40 years living in Brooklyn NY where she raised her children & grew the love for her community. She would spend many hours spreading the love of our Father & reciting the rosary. If you knew Luz you knew she was a mother to all. She lived to change our lives for the better by praying for each & every one of us- especially for Armani Nunez (son of Junior & Diana Nunez). Her nurturing spirit and unwavering support extended to every friend and family member that crossed her path.

Luz Abreu is survived by her three children: Carlos Martinez & his wife Marisol , Mary Devers & her husband David & Ruben Martinez & Sandrita. Grandchildren Carlito, Steven, Michael, Jasmine, 

Gabriel, Bryan, Danielle, Melissa, Rubencito, Dariel & Jackson. She will be dearly missed by her family & countless friends who were touched by her warmth. 

Though she’s no longer here with us we are at ease knowing we have gained a guardian angel by our side! Family & friends please join us to celebrate the life of our loving mother on Friday September 6 from 5pm-9pm at the Seneca Chapel Funeral Home (494 Seneca Ave, Ridgewood NY 11385). Funeral Mass will be the following day September 7th at 10am at the St. Fortunata Roman Catholic Church (2609 Linden Blvd, Brooklyn, NY 11208) following the burial at 12:45pm at the George Washington, Memorial Park
