Marie Ursitti

Marie was born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1968 and moved with her parents to lower Manhattan in 1970, where she was raised and remained for the remainder of her life. She attended several Catholic Schools in her youth including Our Lady of Pompeii and Notre Dame School. She earned a BS in Fashion Business Management from the Fashion Institute of Technology in 2000 and worked in Sales after graduating. She was married on December 17, 2005, in Our Lady of Pompeii Church, and devoted her full time to raising her daughter who was born in November 2006. Marie was forever young at heart and in spirit and loved to sing, dance and most of all to make her daughter laugh. She had a natural talent for interior and exterior design and created breathtaking displays for every holiday. She loved animals and was a strong advocate for their humane treatment. She was passionate about exploring nature and was a dedicated forager of herbs and mushrooms. She was deeply proud of her Italian heritage. Marie had a strong faith and regularly called on patron saints to pray for her and loved ones.
