Michele Lucchese was born on April 5, 1940 in Palermo, Sicily. Alongside his siblings, Armando, Salvo, and Antonella, Michele was raised by his parents Giuseppe and Elvira. A highly regarded student, Michele was once acknowledged with a trip through Italy for his academics. As a young man, Michele worked in shoemaking, signaling a lifelong expertise for working with his hands. Michele met his beloved soul mate, Anna Stornello, and in 1964 they were married. Anna was the center of Michele’s universe. They began their lives together in Palermo, where they had their daughter, Patrizia. Michele and Anna then moved to Mainz, Germany, which presented work opportunities. After four years, they had their son, Rodolfo. In the following year, sponsored by Anna’s mother, Caterina Stornello, they began their immigration process to the United States.
Michele and Anna arrived in Williamsburg, Brooklyn in 1971 and, one year later, purchased their first home in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. In work life, Michele became a master craftsman across different industries. Eventually, he established himself with a company in Secaucus, NJ, where he worked, producing simulated leathers. In 1980, Michele and Anna purchased a home in Bushwick, Brooklyn, where they hosted treasured family gatherings over several years. Michele was a model patriarch, a devoted husband, and a strong mentor to his children.
Michele is survived by his wife Anna, his children Patrizia (John) and Rodolfo (Stephen), his grandchildren Rino (Elsie) and Michael, and his great-grandchildren Giancarlo and Rosalia.
