Sean Michael Barrow, 23 of Ridgewood, New York passed on January 26, 2021 of Esophageal Cancer
Life:
Sean was born on February 8, 1997 in Brooklyn, New York to parents Jessica and Byron. He was the
eldest of two sons and had a close bond with his younger brother, Kevin. Sean was an incredibly
intelligent and astute individual. Those who knew him best would describe him as fiercely stubborn,
independent and kind. Sean was also quick witted and always had a good comeback. As a child he was
known as the best Lego builder and as he grew older, became a master at video gaming. Sean also
enjoyed writing and had recently started teaching himself piano. He had an adventurous palate and
loved good food, more specifically, spicy foods. Sean remained positive and spirited until the end, one of
his last requests was a day at a pizzeria with friends, a slice of pizza and a Snapple.
Family: Sean is survived by his parents; Jessica Durand and Byron Barrow, his brother; Kevin Matthew
Barrow, his family dog; Pepper and his grandparents; Carmen Gonzalez and Juan Durand.
Sean’s precious life has ended far too soon but there was no shortage of love, laughter and memories
shared with him throughout the years. These memories, experiences and pictures will be cherished by
his family forever. We often do not know the order or reason for these events in a young, vibrant
individual but we do know that Sean’s purpose on this earth was to leave each one of us with a piece of
him in our hearts. I challenge all reading this to embrace life, live freely, love one another
unconditionally and never forget that family is everything. -It’s what Sean would’ve wanted.
