Sr. Gerard Mary du St Rosaire was called home by the Lord on Friday January 10, 2025. She was
born Barbara Ann Bradley in Baltimore, MD, on November 20, 1936. Sr. Gerard Mary graduated
from Seton High School in July 1954 and then entered the Little Sisters of the Poor, where she
made Profession on December 11, 1956, and final Profession on October 15, 1961.
In her 68 years of Religious Life, she has generously served in our Homes in Milwaukee, Oakland,
Chicago, Eldorado, Palatine, Newark NJ, Scranton, Denver, Baltimore, Newark DE, Latham,
Enfield, Pawtucket and Somerville. Over the past 25 years she served in Queen of Peace with
kind hearted devotion and a great sense of humor towards all those whose life she touched
through her Nursing and Administrative skills and joyful hospitality to everyone.
Her love of the Blessed Mother and her strong devotion to the Rosary, which was her constant
companion, helped sustain her throughout her life. She shared her faith generously and spread
God’s love to others with a great sincerity and charity towards them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Bradley and Mabel Burkhouse, as well as her
sister, Margaret Bradley and her 4 brothers, Kenneth O., William H., James F., and James Francis.
Sr. Gerard is survived by her nephew, Dan (Cathy) Hoke and her niece, Mary Zimmer, along with
many great nieces and nephews and great grand nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be from 2–5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2025 at Queen of Peace Residence
110-30 221 st Street, Queens Village, NY, with recitation of the Rosary at 4:30p.m. There will be
Visiting Hours prior to the 10:30a.m. Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the Chapel at
Queen of Peace Residence on Saturday January 18 th . Committal will follow at Holy Cross
Cemetery in Brooklyn.
